WINSTON – SALEM, NC – Mrs. Marietta Sue (Colglazier) Swaim, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC after a courageous battle of health issues.  Marietta was born on December 22, 1944 at the Washington Hospital in Daviess County, IN.  Marietta married Alfred Eugene Swaim on December 27, 1969. 

Al preceded her in death.  Her parents, Warren G. Colglazier and Francille (McDonald) Colglazier, and a brother, Terry Allen Colglazier, and a sister Myra Elaine Colglazier also preceded her in death.

Marietta is survived by her sister, Anita Colglazier of Winston-Salem, NC, and a brother, Mark Colglazier of Bloomington, IN.  She is additionally survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Marietta was a graduate of Purdue University in 1966—School of Agriculture majoring in Food Science.  She was a 1962 graduate of Mitchell High School.  Marietta retired from R. J. Reynolds where she worked in Research and Development and Marketing Research in both the Foods Groups and Tobacco Group.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Winston-Salem in Winston-Salem, NC transferring her membership from the Huron Baptist Church in Huron, IN.

A celebration of Marietta’s life service will be held at a later date.
