BEDFORD Marjorie June Briscoe, 78, Bedford, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at 9:26 a.m. at St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital.

Born June 13, 1932, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Daniel and Bertha (Phillipi) Ray. She married Louis Franklin “Doodle” Briscoe on March 19, 1949. He loved her unconditionally and was the love of her life.

Marjorie was a homemaker who loved to watch birds, especially hummingbirds and finches, and had collected hundreds of angels. She enjoyed birthday dinners with her friends and was a competitive card player who loved to win. Most of all, she was a mother who loved her family and her children, Danny and Vickie, who were often given “encouraging suggestions” which they did not always follow. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were always “The Best” and they would make her day by calling or coming to visit. She and her sisters had many adventures. Her prayer was that her family and friends would be baptized and love the Lord. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Eleven precious years of life were given to her because of a very special person who donated their heart. Her wish was that more people would understand the importance of being an organ donor.
