MITCHELL – Martin Dean Edwards, 55, passed away at 12:47 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at his residence. He was surrounded by family and friends.

Born March 8, 1957, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Ernest Rice and Betty Lavon (Baldwin) Edwards. Martin married Marjorie Doreen Terry September 29, 1979.

He was employed as a mechanic and machinist at Woolston Automotive, served in the U. S. Army, and was a member of the Spice Valley Baptist Church.

               children, Coyle Bradley Edwards, Paoli
                             Rachel Nicole Edwards, Mitchell
                 mother, Betty Edwards, Mitchell
       grandchildren, Madison Sue McCauley
                             Jaysen Blayne Edwards

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Monte Dale Edwards; and sister, Debra Ann Crane.

Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 23, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Leslie Hart officiating.  Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

 The family will greet friends from 12:00 p.m. until the service on Saturday.

    Doreen, Rachel, I'm so sorry for your loss . You are in my thoughts and prayers. Marty will be missed so much by all of us .I just heard and I'm in shock .     Uncle Marty was always one of my favorite people. Even though I didn't get to see him as much in recent years, he always held a very special place in my heart. I like to think that he and dad are playing music together right now with Grandpa and Aunt Debbie listening along :) Love you all!
