MITCHELL – Mary Lou Hornocker, 71, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born November 3, 1948, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of John William “Bill” and Mildred Marie (Clipp) Suddarth.  She married James William “Jim” Hornocker, Jr. May 17, 2011, and he preceded her in death April 30, 2020.

Mary Lou was a member of Tri County Antique Tractor Association, collected Farmall tractors, and was a founding member of Todays Homemakers Club.  She enjoyed going to drag races and being on the lake when her kids were younger, and making flower arrangements with her friend, Jean Waldbieser.  Mary Lou loved crocheting, Elvis Presley, and all of her jobs, especially law enforcement.  After she retired, she enjoyed going to horse races and casinos with her husband, Jim.  She was a devoted mother, and when grandkids came along, she became a devoted Mammie.  Her world revolved around her grandkids.

So sorry to read about Mary Lou. I always enjoyed working with her @ Washington County Memorial Hospital. She was a hoot. She also cut my hair for a time. I know she will be missed. Take care. Blessings. Vivian

I still can’t believe she’s gone......we talked every few days, if not every day. She kept me grounded, always made me laugh, always felt happier after talking with her.....she was so funny. Such a great lady, she will be so dearly missed.....my heart is broken. My prayers for her family and especially her kids! I’m here anytime any of you want to talk, or reminisce and share all of our wonderful memories of her....love you all.

This breaks my heart. Mary Lou was a precious friend I was honored to have from when she worked for Odulios for years. Cassie and Dustin, she loved you both so much - we had many conversations about how precious you were to her. Lost track of her over the years but every once in a while we would talk and catch up. She was a special person.

To all our family members...In our family of 10 cousins, there were only 3 girls and Mary Lou was the cousin closest to my age as she was born only 7 months before I was. I have so many good memories of times spent with Mary Lou, especially when we were kids. It's hard to imagine the world without her. I wish Don and I could be there for her visitation and service and to give you all a hug, but we cannot currently travel. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as you honor her life. Love, Nanette
