MITCHELL – Maxine Byrum, 75, Mitchell, passed away at 5:25 a.m. Friday, December 31, at Bloomington Hospital.
Born April 28, 1929, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Noel and Hennie (Perry) Lawrence. She married Joseph Edward Byrum November 22, 1947, and he preceded her in death May 18, 1997.
She was a member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church and Mitchell Senior Citizens.

sister, Rachel Burnette, Alexandria, Louisiana
brother, Pete Moore, Scottsville, Kentucky
granddaughters, Julia, Jennifer, Brooke, CaSandra, and Jamie

Her parents; husband; and sister, Elizabeth Barrick, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 3, in the Mitchell Wesleyan Church with Pastors Stephen Jones, Wes Jones, and J. D. Gaines officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Chastain Funeral home and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Monday at the church.
