HURON – Michael Kent Moser, 75, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Indiana University Health Hospice House.
Born February 27, 1950, in Kokomo, he was the son of Peter Walter Jr. and Betty Maxine (Hunt) Moser.
Michael graduated from Kokomo High School in 1969 and graduated from Indiana State University in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in education. It was at Indiana State where he met the love of his life, Judy, and they married on June 1, 1974.
Mike wasn’t afraid of hard work. He began working at Continental Steel and delivered produce for Heltzels Wholesale in high school. During college he worked at Tri Industries and delivered pizzas. After college, Mike taught Industrial Arts for one year at Shoals High School, and then went on to work at Crawford Morris Lumber and Conley Trucking in Mitchell. It was in 1979 he decided to purchase his own semi and become an owner/operator and then later a broker; hiring drivers for his own trucks. In 1986 he became a diesel mechanic for Schilli trucking, which later became Wabash Valley Trucking. He never stopped learning, earning many ASE certifications during his employment as a mechanic and becoming a CDL driving instructor. He retired in 2015 from Wabash Valley Trucking.
Mike enjoyed fixing and repairing everything; especially if you said it couldn’t be done! He loved to fish, travel with his wife and family, and go to flea markets.
