BEDFORD – Nancy Lela Koenig, 86, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022, at Stonebridge Health Campus.

Born November 21, 1935, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of George Franklin and Mildred (Lucas) Wittenmyer.  She married Joe L. Koenig June 15, 1963 and he preceded her in death July 23, 2017.

Nancy was a homemaker and a member of the Bride of Christ Fellowship.

Surviving are her children, Mendy G. (Steve) Freeman Lee of Mitchell, Marty J. (Connie) Freeman of Mitchell, Michael J. Koenig of Bicknell; sister, Sylvia Sue Gasper of Newark, California; thirteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Her husband; parents; daughter, Marsha K. Gardner; great-grandson, Kayden Thompson; and brother, Jack Wittenmyer preceded her in death.

Cremation has been chosen with a graveside service at Mitchell Cemetery at a later date.

The family wishes to thank Stonebridge for their unending love and great patience. They made a horrible situation bearable.
