BRADENTON, FLORIDA – Ogal C. Yaney, of Bradenton and Mitchell, passed away Friday afternoon, May 26, 2006, at Greenbriar Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Bradenton.

Born December 11, 1919, in Bedford, he was the son of Richard and Sarah Jane (Craig) Yaney. He married Demeris Ingram in 1943 and she preceded him in death in 1994. He then married Esther Purlee in 1995 and she preceded him in death in 2002.

He was co-founder of the South Lawrence Utilities and retired from there in 1983. From 1961-1967, he and Demeris owned and operated the Candy Kitchen in Mitchell.

He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a life member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250. He was also a member of Jacob Finger United Methodist Church.

His parents; both wives; daughter, Sarita Jane Haley; granddaughter, Angela; sisters: Mary Greathouse, Mable Girdley, Nellie Fullen, Clara Belle, Jo Eila, and Myrtle; and brother, Leland Yaney, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Brother Max Timbrook officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
