MITCHELL Otto Glenn Hamer, 91, Mitchell, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 11, 1919, in Princeton, IN, he was the son of Otto George and Bessie LaNell (Gilley) Hamer. He married Loetta Myrtle Long February 18, 1940 and she survives.
He was a retired special inspector for the New York Central Railroad and was a mechanic. He was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church, Murray, KY, and Masonic Lodge No. 231. He was a Navy veteran of WWII.

His parents; daughter, Barbara Jean Clark; and brothers, Charles and Donald Hamer, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 20, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Reverend Glenn Hamer officiating. Burial will be in Hamer Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 6:00 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, and from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Mitchell Masonic Lodge No. 228 F&AM will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
