MITCHELL – Paul F. “Pete” Sears, 79, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at St. Catherine Regional Hospital in Charlestown.

Born May 15, 1933, in Fayetteville, he was the son of Pastol and Lucille (Boyd) Sears.  He married Philis (Walton) Burton September 1, 1978, and she preceded him in death January 8, 2013.

Paul retired from General Motors.  He was a member of the Mitchell Church of Christ and a 1952 graduate of Fayetteville High School.

                      sons, Tony Sears, Bedford
                               Jim Sears, Floyds Knobs
           stepchildren, Trudie (Tim) Dillman, Mitchell
                               John Burton, Meridian, Mississippi
                               Susan (Steve) Marlman, Salem
                                7 grandchildren
                                9 great grandchildren
                                5 step grandchildren
                                2 step great grandchildren
                   brother, Merle Sears, Mooresville

His parents; wife; sister, Lois Smith; and brother, James Franklin Sears, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Bro. Allen Burris officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

    So sorry for another loss Trudie. I can only assume God had a good reason for all of this to happen so quickly. I always have great memorys of your mom of how hard she worked from the farming days and the last few years. Your mom is at a well deserved rest and is rejoicing now.
