MITCHELL – Phillip Edward Geary, 51, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born July 12, 1969, in Phoenix, Arizona, he was the son of Charles Walter and Naomi Maxine (Austill) Geary.  He married Amanda Jean Brooks September 14, 2020.

Phillip was employed at the French Lick Casino.  He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1987.  Phillip was a member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church and volunteered at Promise Keepers as security.  He loved camping, fishing and road trips.

Phillip was a U. S. Army and U. S. Navy veteran.

His parents; and siblings, Mary Box, Melody Henderson, and Jimmy Zearbaugh, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 5, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Steve Jones officiating.  Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
