ORLEANS Plumie Mae Thacker, 92, 447 Deer Run Road, Orleans, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2011, at her residence.

Born January 28, 1919, in Cumberland County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of James Ress and Nancy Suzanna Jewel (Roach) Young. She married Otis Mitchell Thacker February 24, 1935, and he preceded her in death August 26, 2010.

She was a member of the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene and was employed several years at Cargas Candy Kitchen.

Her parents; husband; son, Nelson Thacker; daughter, Letha Johnson; brothers, James Humer Young, Roy Edward Young, Tony Lawrence Young, and Willie Truman Young; and sisters, Goldie Ilima Mee, Sylvia Lorene Spears, Bernice Ree Thompson, and Versie Elvine Vaughn, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Bechtel officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
