MITCHELL – Porter Troxel, 82, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2012, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born August 4, 1930, in Oolitic, he was the son of William and Ella (Boruff) Troxel. He married Christena June Pridemore February 16, 1957.
Porter retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center—Crane and was owner of the Copy Shop for ten years.
He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving: wife, Christena Troxel, Mitchell daughters, Tammie (Eddie) Wray, Bedford Robin Nuzum, Bloomington grandchildren, Billy, Jeremy, and Bobby Jo
His parents; brothers, Forest Troxel, Boyd Troxel, and Freeman Troxel; and sister, Ruth Tolliver, preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, at Mitchell Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Allen officiating.
There will be no visitation.
