ROBBINSVILLE, NC Robert Franklin Walker, 82, formerly of Mitchell, passed away at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, June1, 2011, at Graham Health Care and Rehab Center in Robbinsville.
Born November 8, 1928, in Orange County, he was the son of Roscoe and Hazel (Elrod) and Walker.
He was a self employed carpenter, and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.

Sheri Lynn (Jason) Lane, Crawfordsville
granddaughter,
Lora Jane (Doug) Porter, Indianapolis
His parents; twin sister, Betty Rose Bolin; and grandson, Robert David Walker II, preceded him in death.
A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, at Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
