MITCHELL Robert Joseph Zile, 47, passed away at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2012, at his residence.
Born September 13, 1964, in Dayton, Kentucky, he was the son of Robert Leland Zile and Norma Lillian (Spencer) Zile. He married Irene Jeannette Stockton April 5, 1997.
He was an electrical engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane. Bob graduated from Holmes High School in 1982. He earned bachelor’s degrees from Northern Kentucky University and University of Kentucky. He was a member of Tulip Street Christian Church.
He volunteered at St. Vincent dePaul School as a tutor, Cub Scouts as a den leader, and with Bryantsville Hunger Relief Project, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed wood working, and was a T’ai chi ch’uan Sifu, and Hamm Radio Operator.

His parents and sister, Yvonne Collins, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 6, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Bro. Greg McBride and Father Rick Eldred officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
