Growing up in Mitchell as I did till 1953 if you had an interest in sports you knew Bob Keane. Bob truly was sports. You could not have a conversation without sports coming in it somewhere. When I would visit family over the years I would meet up with Bob and he would update me on what he was doing regarding sports. I knew Bob Keane as a kind and gentle man. Many men go thru life without really making a difference. Bob Keane made a difference. My best wishes to all the family. Jerry Williams Indpls in

I was so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Another of what I call the “greater generation” gone. Bob was a great example of how a man was supposed to live his life. There is no counting the number of young people that Bob improved by being the gentle man that he was. I have very fond memories of playing little league baseball that Bob was instrumental in getting started. Those days and those men did me and lot’s of others a great service. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and I can hear the gloves popping as Brian and Bob are playing some catch. Peace ~Pete
