MITCHELL – Robin Michelle Allen, 62, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born July 26, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of John and Margaret LaVerne (Rouse) Harder.  She married Keven Allen May 3, 2014.

Robin had been employed at the spa at French Lick Springs Hotel and was a collector of antiques.  She loved auctions and attended the First Baptist Church in Williams.

Robin was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She was an avid puzzle enthusiast and a voracious reader, which as her kids often joked with her, was sometimes to the detriment of her cooking. She enjoyed singing Ethel Merman songs, but try as she might, she never did sound like that famous singer. She used to boast to her children that she was very cool because she bought a Slim Shady record. Though her children were not impressed then, the memory brings a smile to their faces now.

Robin was an enthusiastic animal lover. She loved her pug, Otis, had a soft spot for abandoned cats, and was very fond of her chickens. She enjoyed her chickens so much, that her home was filled with rooster knick-knacks that were lovingly referred to as “chicken ___.”

Robin lived well and had a life full of laughter and fun. When she was diagnosed with cancer seven months ago, she was determined to fight, and she was convinced that she would win her battle right to the very end. She will be missed.
