BEDFORD – Ronald David Cole, 79, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born March 12, 1943, in Washington County, he was the son of Thomas Bryce Stanfield and Edna Ola (Price) Cole.  He married Gretchen Roxanne Schultz in 1987.

Ronald retired from Regal-Beloit and was a “jack of all trades.”   He enjoyed repairing antique clocks, and was very good at drawing.  He was an avid car fan and loved car shows.  Ronald was a 1961 graduate of Salem High School.

                                       Debbie (Bob) Lewis of Bloomington

                  stepchildren, Sam Cruz of Jeffersonville

                                       John Almendarez of Salem

                                       Cameron (Angie) Moffatt of Salem

                                       Jessie Carvalho of Florida

                                       13 grandchildren

                                         5 great grandchildren

His parents preceded him in death.

Cremation was chosen with no service.  Burial will be at a later date in Cole Cemetery.

    Ron was a classmate of mine and we were in basic training together at Fort Jackson, SC. He was a great guy. I am sorry for your loss.

    Really sorry to hear of Ron's passing. We worked together many years. He was a brilliant machinist, could build almost anything from just an idea. I've missed working with him since the plant closed.
