BONO – Rosalie Mae (Meredith) Stewart, 89, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, at her son’s home in Bono.
Born August 17, 1925, in Hall, Indiana, she was the daughter of Roy Earl and Parrie Mae (Taylor) Meredith. She married Norman Herbert Stewart June 19, 1949, and he preceded her in death July 20, 1983.
Rosalie was a former Lawrence County Treasurer serving from 1985-1996. She worked in various offices in the Courthouse for over 40 years. She was a member of the Bono United Methodist Church until its closing and attended the Mitchell First Baptist Church until her death. She was a longtime member of the Theta Zeta Chapter of Phi Beta Psi Sorority, and served many years as a Pink Lady at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Rosalie enjoyed attending a women’s Bible study group and going on outings with her many friends. She was always quick to feed any family stopping by her house.
