MITCHELL Russell Edmund White, Sr., 70, Mitchell, passed away at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at his residence.

Born July 19, 1940, in Washington County, he was the son of William Bernard and Nellie Mabel (Maudlin) White. He married Karen Sue Toon February 2, 1992.

He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post No. 250.

Russell retired from the CSX Railroad and was a member of the House of Prayer in Ellettsville, and the Bedford Boat and Sportsmen’s Club.

His parents; son, Russell Edmund White, Jr.; and brother, Phillip White, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday and from 12:30 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
