MITCHELL Russell Edward “Russ” Edmonson, 60, Mitchell, passed away at 8:36 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2009, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born September 22, 1948, in Orange County, he was the son of Charley and Catherine (Sanders) Edmonson. He married Connie Jean Reynolds June 3, 1985.
He was superintendent of the water and sewage department for the City of Mitchell for 27 years, and was a member of the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department.

His parents; brothers, Arthur Dale Sanders, and Donald Eugene Edmonson; and sister, Mary Lois Kennedy, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Mikulsky officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
