KNIGHTSTOWN – Ruth F. Barnes, 93, Knightstown, formerly of Paoli, passed away at 1:23 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
Born December 26, 1915, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of William A. and Lucille (Woodward) Jones. She married Marshall H. “Bill” Barnes June 26, 1937, and he preceded her in death July 19, 1990.
Ruth was a retired cashier for Paoli Community Schools and a member of the Paoli United Methodist Church and the All in One Club of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of Delta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc., Order of Eastern Star, Paoli Fireman’s Auxiliary, and a long time volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Drive.

Her parents; husband; brothers, Howard, John E., Charles, and Biff Jones; and sisters, Norma Jean Jones, Helen Sipe, and Oweetah Scott, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Jim Babcock officiating. Entombment will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Todd Fuenral Home in Knightstown and from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home.
