MITCHELL – Sandra “Sandy” Kay Blount, 73, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Born May 26, 1951, in Livonia, she was the daughter of Herald Jake and Alice (Tincher) Patton. She married Jess James Blount, Sr. on January 2, 1968, and he preceded her in death after 41 years of marriage on May 1, 2009.
Sandy and her husband owned and operated Truck Toppers. She was a devoted member of the Mitchell congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and had a strong faith in her God Jehovah. Sandy loved all wildlife, birds, feeding her ducks and Canada geese. She was a nature photographer and enjoyed hiking trails at Spring Mill Park. Sandy will be remembered for the teas and scones she made.
Survivors include her son, Jess (Melissa) Blount, Jr. of Corydon and siblings, Dake Patton of Palmyra, Jeannie McCabe of Paoli, and Terry Patton of Livonia.
Her parents; husband; and siblings, Marvin Patton, Robert Patton, Ivan Patton, Bonnie Doan, Connie Godbey, Roger Patton, and Jerry Patton, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Mitchell Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Steve Stoyer officiating. Burial to follow at Livonia Cemetery.
