MITCHELL – Sarah Dawn Kern, 49, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital.

Born April 8, 1977, in Paoli, she was the daughter of Debbie (Asbery) Compton.

Sarah was the owner/operator of Orange County Cutters Lawn Care and Half Moon Landscapes.  She enjoyed plants, landscaping, and animals.  Sarah loved hosting her family at her house and spending time with her grandkids.  

Surviving are her children, Angel (Vesko Dimitrov) Haley of Bedford and Skyler Jenkins of Mitchell; and grandchildren, Hadley Manning and Lincoln Manning, both of Bedford.

Her mother, Debbie; grandson, Danial Busch; and siblings, Shamora Compton and Matt Compton, preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.  Cremation to follow.

    I miss u aunt Sarah. We have so many good memories. I can't believe your gone. I can't wait to see you again one day. All of your memories will live on with me for the rest of my life.     Sis I dont know we're to start ..we was always together from the time we was born ,and growing up together..I have so many memories with us ..I think my best memory of us ,when we was really little and dressed up as ghost ..we laughed so hard bc we couldn't get the paint off our faces. So mom told us we was Goin to be late for school ,so we went to school like that..lol..and everyone was running. It was a good thing we was in 2nd grade. And when we went out on your birthday ,and your first time on the bull..lol..but I am really missing you ,I wish they had a phone in heaven . I always told you,Reba was your role model..you looked just like her. I miss our talks ,and our long text .you was a beautiful soul ..and great mom to angel and skyler..I remember when you had angel..then I had jason..and we was always together watching our babies play. And you was such a great mom to skyler..he deff was a mommas baby..thats what we always talked about..he was like one of my son's sis. I can keep goin on sis. I feel like I am talking to you 😭,,.I am really goin to miss you,and a piece of me left with you..I pray for your babies ..writing this i cant stop crying sis..watch out for all of us. You was a beautiful soul,and had an amazing heart..and you loved your grandbabies ,and your dogs ,and all of us. See you one day sis..you lived the life you lived,and you cherished it. I will always have all of our memories..we have a life time of them..my hearts breaking for your babies..😭😭😭😭💔

    Sarah worked part time for my mother. Everyone loved her. Her personality would light up the room. Always had a great attitude. I know she will be greatly missed by many. My condolences to her children & the rest of the family and her many friends.
