ENGLISH – Shamora Darlene Compton, 40, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at U of L Health Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Born October 13, 1982, in Paoli, she was the daughter of James D. Compton and Debora Jean (Asbury) Blackburn.
Shamora had attended school in Paoli and made a tremendous impact on all her friend’s lives. She greatly enjoyed backroad cruising and jamming to her favorite country music. Known to live life her way, Shamora loved deeply, even when she tried not to show it. Many knew her as a princess since childhood. Shamora loved her children, family and friends. Her constant companion through life was her beloved dog, Buddro.
Survivors include her children, Ryan Sons of English, Levi Sons of English, Brittany Whallen of Louisville, Raven Whallen of Louisville, Sabbath Evans of Louisville, and Amanda Miller of Louisville; grandchildren, Ivory Jade Sons, Blake, Channler, Railynn, Ryleigh, Ryan Jr., Liam, and Zaylee; father, James D. Compton of Paoli; sister, Sarah (Compton) Kern of Mitchell; nieces, Angel Haley, Savannah Robbins, and Sierra Compton; nephews, Skyler Jenkins, and Blake Compton; and uncle, Randy Asbury.
Her mother; brother, James Matthew Compton; grandparents, Chester and Peggy Asbury, and Barney and Virginia Compton; and uncles, Duane Asbury, Dennis Asbury, Roger Asbury, and Ronnie Compton, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 4 in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Cremation has been chosen.
