Shirley was very talented. She made a wreath for my door at the rehab center when I was recovering from a broken leg. It was admired by all and was so professionally done that they thought it had been purchased from a specialty store. I remember visiting with her at my brother's memorial and how kind and gracious she was. I knew Shirley through her sister, Ruthie, and I know she'll be remembered and missed by all who knew her. My condolences to her family. I hope the memories you have of Shirley will help you through your grief.

Tom, my Sister Gaye (Sorrells) and I are the daughters of Claude and Lillian Steele. We are so deeply sorry that you have lost your beautiful Shirley. Our parents loved you both. Gaye and I remember Shirley’s light, good humor and wonderful cakes. We remember your friendship with our dad and your love of trains! Those years were a golden time for us. We will never forget. May God bless and comfort you.

I'm going to miss you Aunt Shirley. I wish there had been more time...more travels, nail appointments, phone calls and visits. Thank you for praying for me and my kiddos...and for filling in as my momma. I know you are together with your other half and your Jesus. That makes my heart a little less broken. I'll see you again.

I will always cherish the memories of visiting my cousins, the twins and Ruthie. I can’t remember how we got any sleep because all 5 of us would sleep in a double bed. When my parents moved to California, I missed them. They were the only cousins my age. Their pictures hung outside my bedroom so I saw them daily. Sharon and Shirley will live in my heart till I see them again.

I didn't know Shirley personally but served with Tom in the Navy. I knew through correspondence that Tom was devoted to Shirley and they had a true bond of love for each other. My condolences, Tom, to you for being the man and husband you always were. You will see Shirley again. Your friend, Tom

What a wonderful, wonderful friend Shirley was to me. We met on her cancer journey. I was blessed to be her nurse. We hit it off instantly & she became one of my dearest friends. She gave me so much more than I could ever have given her. She was such a blessing to everyone she met! I’m so glad you’re not suffering any longer Shirley but I am sure going to miss you and our talks and prayers. I love you so much! God Bless You Tom & the rest of your family!!!!

She and Sharon were my first friends, playmates and general mischief makers! They turned into beautiful daughters, sisters, wives, grandmothers and great grandmothers. The world would be a better place if there were more like them. I will miss Shirley Ann dearly as I have Sharon Lee but my wish is that they are together again. Love you Sis!
