MITCHELL – Steven Eugene Carter, 66, formerly of Orleans, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Born June 25, 1953, in Bedford, he was the son of Robert and Rose Marie (Jones) Carter.  He married Debra J. Edwards April 18, 1975.

Steven was an Eagle Scout and coached girls softball teams in Orleans.  He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1972.

Family graveside service was Wednesday, May 6, at Liberty Baptist Cemetery.  Pastor Dwight Dunbar officiated.

Arrangements were entrusted to Haverly Funeral Chapel.

    Steve And I go way back !! We were Cousins but yet friends back when we were kids!! We were so Lucky that we grew up together !! I loved Steve so much way back than and even now ! You never forget your childhood !! I know that I haven’t seen too much of him lately but I do know when we would see each other today we would hug each other like when it was just yesterday !!
