MITCHELL – SueAnn Wilkerson, 78, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Born May 8, 1945, in Lawrenceport, she was the daughter of Cecil Benjamin and Elsie Veryl (Robertson) Allen.

Sue worked as a certified nursing assistant at Mitchell Manor and CORE Nursing & Rehabilitation.  She was a member of First Christian Church in Mitchell.  Sue was a hard worker; she enjoyed mowing yards and spent many years mowing with her dad.

Surviving are her, children, Ronnetta Sue (Freddie) Hopper of Mitchell and Tresa Hamilton of Mitchell; grandchildren, Audrey (Jeff), Brandon, Matthew (Temple), Miranda (Matt), Stewart (Kelsey), Isabella (Eduardo), and Spencer (Sydney); great-grandchildren, Alexis, Carol, Violet, Lenora, Claire, and Narissa; sister, Rosemary Brewer of Mitchell; and her significant other, Paul David Basinger of Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents; daughter, Yolanda Spicer; brother, Bob Allen; and son-in-law, Warren Spicer, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, at Haverly Chapel with Bro. Brian Bolton officiating.  Burial will be in Lawrenceport Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

    I remember attending a birthday party for Sue Ann many years ago at the old Canteen in Mitchell. We shared the same birthday. I’m so sorry for your loss. Prayers of comfort for the family.

    Sorry to hear about Sue Ann. I'm sure she will be missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you. We have many memories of our younger days. One comes to mind, us kids were arguing about something and Sue Ann chased me with a switch she pulled off a tree down the hill and up the hill to the bus stop. I was in trouble. I have never forgot that. I think I turned out alright. Thinking of you all, Linda, Janice, Debbie Hugs to you.
