NEWBERRY – Terry Lane Slinkard, Jr, 57, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, at his residence.

Born July 31, 1965 in Bedford, he was the son of Terry Lane Slinkard, Sr and Sonja Kaye (Lantz) Blanton. He married Nancy Lynn (Holmes) Reed on April 7, 2011 and she survives.

Terry had previously worked at Elliott Limestone. He loved God and his family. Terry was a jack of all trades. He was an avid hunter and fisherman that loved the outdoors. He could always be found at the river or in the forest.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Slinkard of Newberry; children, Teresa (Andy) King of Woodbridge, Virginia, Christian Slinkard of Bedford, Hannah (Tyler) Blackwell of Bedford, Sammy Harrison of Bedford, Elizabeth Reed of Bedford, and Jessica Reed of Bedford; grandchildren, Annason, Daxtyn, Colebin, Axel, Ivory, Brightlynn, Finley, and Alora; mother and father, Sonja Kay and Lawrence Blanton of Bedford; and siblings, Tammy (Doug) Hall of Bedford, Jathan Slinkard of Bedford, Jared Slinkard of Bedford, and Erin Slinkard of Indianapolis.

His grandmother, Teresa Barker and father preceded him in death.

Following his wishes, cremation has been chosen.

    My heart is broken for his family! So many great childhood memories of Terry & Tammi. Terry was like family and his was always sweet to me when my brothers we being brothers. I remember camping with our family on White River and Terry with us. I’m so sorry… Praying for all of his family and ask God to comfort them and know Terry is in a better place, we love you all!🙏❤

    There are so many memories of Terry. I can’t begin to list them all. Benny & Terry fished, camped & hunted. I know Terry had some struggles throughout his life but one thing I knew for sure he loved me & my family. He would have done anything I asked of him. He was beyond a friend, he was like family. God was waiting for Terry with open arms. God knew Terry’s heart & knew he needed rest. Terry is resting in peace. He will be missed. He loved & was loved. My love & prayers to his entire family.
