ELLETTSVILLE – Virginia Sue Oswalt, 78, formerly of Mitchell, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019, at Garden Villa in Bloomington.

Born September 16, 1940, in Paoli, she was the daughter of Fred and Alice Mildred (Long) White.

Sue was a surgical nurse and had been employed at Dunn Memorial Hospital and Presbyterian Manor in Topeka, Kansas. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1958 and received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. Sue enjoyed wood carving, reading, and was a member of the Metropolitan Community Church in Topeka.

Vincent Fredrick (Jessica) Oswalt of Cumming, Georgia
Rebecca Jean Thacker of Bloomington
grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Oswalt and Ryan James Oswalt

Her parents and siblings, Rebecca Jane Slemp, Fredrick Duncan White, and infant Nancy Lee White, preceded her in death.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, at Mitchell Cemetery with Pastor Dwight Dunbar officiating.
