MITCHELL – Wanda Jean Rager, 86, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Born October 23, 1935, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Clarence and Rowena (Green) Cauble.  She married Walter Hulet Rager April 26, 1952, and he preceded her in death May 21, 2020.

Wanda had been employed as a switchboard operator for the telephone company and retired from Hoosier Uplands.  She was a member of the Mitchell Presbyterian Church and American Legion No. 250 Auxiliary.  Wanda enjoyed the Red Hat Society, Happy Travelers, the casino, and traveling.  She loved her family and friends.

Her parents; husband; and son-in-law, Jeff Jolley, preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, at Mitchell Cemetery with Pastor Dwight Dunbar officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. Thursday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center and requested that masks be worn.

    Im so sorry to hear about the passing of Wanda..She was a very kind hearted women and a dear friend.. I remember one trip we took to the boat cause she loved to go there.
