MITCHELL – Wayne David Jones, 78, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel Hospital.

Born August 26, 1946, in Mitchell, he was the son of Reese and Alice Aleen (Eisenmenger) Jones.

Wayne was a graduate of Shawswick High School.  He worked at Carpenter Body Works for over 20 years as an electrician and retired from GE.  He enjoyed going to flea markets, auctions, or any other sales.  He loved his family and his grandkids were the light of his life.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Jones of Mitchell; children, Jamie Jones Barnett of Mitchell and Jack R. (Michell) Jones of Jackson County; grandchildren, Megan Rudolph, Jacqueline Burnette, Kyle Jones, and Kayley Hacker; ten great-grandchildren; and sister, Phyllis Harris of Bedford.

His parents and siblings, Abby Jones, Bob Jones, Reese Jones, Jr., Mamie Coffman, Dorothy Goen, Violet Jones, Maxine Elgin, and infant sister, Edith Mitman, preceded him in death.

Cremation has been chosen with graveside service held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 21 at Bryantsville Cemetery.

    Wayne was such a smiling and pleasant person to be around. Jack, Michelle and all, I am so sorry for your loss and unfortunately understand your pain.     Prayers for the family. I loved uncle Wayne. I came into the family at 17 years old married his sisters son Mike Neal. After our divorce uncle Wayne still said that did not change things I was still apart of the family. Our kids Mike Joe Tammy Neal all thought a lot of him. RiP uncle Wayne. Love you and miss you.

    Sat across from Wayne in 6th grade don’t remember when they moved but would have been in MHS 1965 class & got reacquainted with him at Carpenters sorry for your loss🥲 & bought a couple of concrete figurines & still have one on front porch
