MITCHELL – William “Bill” Arnold, 75, Mitchell, passed away at 10:41 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital, Bloomington.
Born August 25, 1931, in Mitchell, he was the son of Russell and Zimro (Price) Arnold. He married Colleen Kirk August 9, 1952.
He was owner/operator of Arnold’s Grocery for several years and was a member of the First Church of God.
He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250.
Earlier in life, Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, and time at his river cabin. He loved working in the yard and took great pride in his garden.

His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, at the First Church of God with Reverend Roland Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Chastain Funeral Home and from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the church.
