MITCHELL William Estel “Willie” Williams, 74, Mitchell, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2010, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.

Born July 30, 1936, in Lawrence County, he was the son of William L. and Ethel M. (Taylor) Williams. He first married Eulalah McCourt who preceded him in death November 16, 1986. He married Corda Mae Cooper July 8, 1989 and she survives.

He was a retired warehouse foreman from Naval Weapons Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, a member of Bride of Christ Fellowship, and a loving father and friend to all. He served in the Army and is a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign War No. 9107.

His parents and sister, Kay Lindsey preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Bride of Christ Fellowship with Brother Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the church.
