ENGLEWOOD, FL — William H. “Bud” Chastain, 82, formerly of Mitchell, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Englewood Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Englewood, Florida.

Born October 9, 1928, in Bedford, he was the son of Fred Thomas and Mabel (Compton) Chastain. He married Dorothy M. Cummings in 1948 and she preceded him in death December 14, 1988. His second marriage was to Jeneva Howell.

He retired from General Motors and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1948.

His parents; daughter, Jamie Ramey; and sister, Betty Mather, preceded him in death.

Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, at Mitchell Cemetery with Rev. Eric Kersey officiating.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home.
