MITCHELL – William J. Luttrell, 75, passed away Tuesday September 28, 2021, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born May 19, 1946, in Mitchell, he was the son of Clayton J. and Louella (Strange) Luttrell. He married Marianne McNeely June 13, 1964.
Bill was Transportation Director for Mitchell Community Schools, was a bus driver for 37 years, and had been employed by the school system over 50 years. He was a big supporter of the Mitchell Bluejackets sports and was a 1964 graduate of Mitchell High School. Bill had owned several service stations in the area and loved farming and his horse drawn buggy. He enjoyed socializing and being out in the community whether it was eating, drinking coffee, or helping people. He always had a story to tell. Bill was a deacon and member of the Bride of Christ Fellowship, Masonic Lodge No. 14, F.&A.M., and Sons of the American Legion Post No. 250. He was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed Sunday dinners with his family.

His parents and siblings, Judy Hall and Clayton J. Luttrell, Jr., preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 4, at the Bride of Christ Fellowship with Brother Jerry Allen and Brother Greg Isom officiating. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Mitchell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the service on Monday at the church.
