 MITCHELL – Barbara Ann Carter-Clifton, 80, passed away at 4:41 a.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012, at her residence.

Born January 26, 1932, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Marty C. and Bessie P. (Tincher) Dixon.  She married Howard W. Carter November 3, 1956, and he preceded her in death September 17, 1984.

She retired from Bedford Regional Medical Center, was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Bedford, and attended the Bride of Christ Fellowship.

Her parents; step-father, G. Leo Carter; husband; and daughter, Dianna J. Neeley preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 9, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. Steve Jones officiating.  Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.

    To the Family, Barbara was a really great lady. She worked with my mom, Margaret Batchelor, at BRMC in dietary. She loved to have fun and was always ready to help out when needed. You have my deepest sympathy and may God give you strength during this difficult time.
