BEDFORD – Noel David Brumage, 52, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, at IU Health Methodist Hospital. Born July 3, 1973 in Zanesville, Ohio, he was the son of Noel Jeffery “Jeff” and Rebecca “Becky” Ann (Fithyan) Brumage.  He was baptized at an early age in the Catholic church in Zanesville, Ohio. He married Leann Kay Luchauer on October 14, 1994, and she survives.

David was a certified welder with the State of Indiana and had recently been working at Indiana Steel. He was a fourth-generation boy scout and past member of Troop 348. David earned Eagle Scout in 1991. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing on the river, mushroom hunting, caving, and hiking.

Survivors include his wife, Leann Brumage of Bedford; parents, Jeff and Becky Brumage of Mitchell; step son, Devin Luchauer of Mitchell; sisters, Jennifer (Richie) Key of Mitchell and Lori (Kenny Turner) Brumage of Taylorsville; nephews, Connor and Lance Key and Rhys Judy; aunts and uncles, Jill (Chuck) Bailey of Zanesville, Ohio and Ernie (Teresa) Fithyan of West Virginia; and mother-in-law, Brenda Luchauer of Bedford.

His grandparents; two uncles; and father-in-law, Oral Luchauer, preceded him in death. 

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 30 in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.

    So, sorry for your loss. I've known Dave since he worked for me at Bedford Machine and tool and I always liked him and now working with him at Indiana Steel.     To the Brumage Family, and Leann his beloved wife, We are devastated about this, loved Dave and cherish the memories we shared. Having fun years ago making fun videos and enjoying music, recently saw Dave when he adopted a pitbull someone left behind, he was a kind coworker loved animals, He gave me advice and was a caring coworker and friend we had so much fun together working at Bedford Recycling making fun videos, when we went on a Road trip to see Gwar. I loved his concert knowledge, him telling me his stories of seeing Metallica concert in the past.... I looked up to him and am also devastated by this. I pray for comfort for you and the Brumage family. Dave was a great man. We will never forget him.

    My husband, daughter, and I met David and Leann 25 years ago while traveling to rabbit shows across the state, and we quickly became friends. David always greeted you with a smile and a kind word. He was proud of his animals and generous with his knowledge, and he made those long show days better just by being there. He will be dearly missed. My heart goes out to Leann and the entire family. My husband passed away at 45, and I truly hope David and my husband meet again in Heaven. Rest in peace David.
