MITCHELL – Bill Eugene VanCleave, 82, Mitchell, passed away at 11:07 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2007, at Dunn Memorial Hospital.

Born June 3, 1925, in Mitchell, he was the son of Cedric and Mildred Pearl (Troth) VanCleave. He married Mary M. Brim December 22, 1951.

He retired from Carpenter Body Works, and was a member of the Orleans Church of Christ.

He was a US Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250.

Lydia Ann VanCleave, Indianapolis

His parents, and brother, Robert D. VanCleave, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 9, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Brother Michael Mahler and Brother Brian Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
