MITCHELL – Caroline M. Gabbert, 93, Mitchell, formerly of Detroit, Michigan, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.

Born December 1, 1913, in Detroit, she was the daughter of Carlo and Angeline (Merlo) Merlo. She married John H. Gabbert April 10, 1937, and he preceded her in death October 25, 1987.

She was a sales associate at Hudson’s Department Store for 20 years.

She was a member of the Mitchell First Baptist Church and had served three terms as worthy matron of Lakepoint, Michigan, Order of Eastern Star No. 420.

Her parents, husband, three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Graham officiating.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

The body will be transferred to Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home in Berkley, MI where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday, June 9. Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. at Acacia Park Cemetery, Birmingham, Michigan.
