MITCHELL – Delores Marthelene Beasley, 93, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born May 2, 1932, in Orange County, she was the daughter of Walter Clarence and Sarah Lois (Pruett) Powell. She married Charles Edward Beasley on January 24, 1953 and he preceded her in death December 16, 2002.

Delores was a 1950 graduate of West Baden High School. She worked for M. Fine & Sons and Trav-lers, and was a homemaker. Delores worked on the family farm and loved sewing, gardening, and canning. She always enjoyed watching the kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Delores was a lifelong member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children, Sharon (Gary) Cheatham, Larry (Debbie) Beasley, Judy Pugh, and Troy (Sherri) Beasley; grandchildren, Zachariah (Heather) Beasley, Audria (Mike) Griffin, Ezra Beasley, Brian (Amanda) Cheatham, Karen Cheatham, Trisha (Nathan) King, Shala (Jesse) Burnette, Nicholas (Bailey) Beasley, Trenton Beasley, and Treva (Grant) Turner; great-grandchildren, Braxston Griffin, Adalyn Griffin, Kolton Beasley, Lincoln Beasley, Blake Cheatham, Cole Cheatham, Abby Lechner, Lane Cheatham, Noel Menaugh, Reagan (Madison Hensley) Walls, Hunter Sneed, Jimma Sneed, Hattie Beasley, Hank Beasley, Lennon Beasley, and Nicolette Turner; great-great granddaughter, Serena Walls; step grandchildren, Alayla Mitchell, Aiden, Jaydan, Blake, Peyton, and Kinley King; step great-grandchildren, Azella King and Psalm Pinnick; and brothers, Billy Dean Powell of Mitchell and Bernard Earl Powell of Bedford.

Her parents; husband; brothers, George Robert Powell, Lee Clark “Plush” Powell, and Lyle Scott “Bud” Powell; and son-in-law, Michael Pugh, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Don McNabb officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at Liberty Baptist Church.
