KALONA, IOWA – Foster Johnson, 71, Kalona, formerly of Mitchell, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2006, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Born December 7, 1934, in Mitchell, he was the son of Hillard and Goldie (York) Johnson.

He was a heavy equipment operator and a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.

His parents; daughter, Rebekah Johnson; brothers, Charles and Ralph Johnson; and grandson, Austin Blasingame, preceded him in death.

Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Port William Cemetery with Pastor Ron Breese officiating. Military honors will be accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home.
