MITCHELL – Helen LuDean Hannie, 79, passed away Friday, December 27, 2024, at Majestic Care Bedford.

Born July 24, 1945, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Marion E. May and Florence Pruett.  She married Donald Eugene Hannie on January 16, 1976, and he survives.

Helen had been a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Hannie of Mitchell; daughters, Ella Jean Kelley Shotts, Kimberly Crawley, and Danaile Crawley; grandchildren, Steven Beuley and Delila Lewis; and siblings, Lauren Hicks, Sandy Swindle, Tonya Dillock; and Sterling “Tony” A. Purdue.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Cremation has been chosen.

    As a child growing up, I remember aunt Helen as always loving and being a lot of fun when the family got together. When I joined the Navy in 1975, I was forever gone and missed a lot of family times. Praying for family and friends. God Bless you all.

    Helen was one of our three older sisters, she had a heart of gold. She loved her family and loved taking care of and feeding people. She will be greatly missed by all of us who loved her. See you on the other side my dear sister.
