MITCHELL – James “Jim” Leslie Deppert, 69, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at his residence.

Born March 30, 1954, in Mooresville, he was the son of Charles Benjamin Jr. and Ida “Joann” (Gunnell) Deppert.

Jim graduated from Mooresville High School.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and doing home improvement and construction.

Surviving are his children, Brandon (Chelsea) Deppert of Atlanta, Georgia, Austin Deppert of Jacksonville, Florida; grandson, Nathan Deppert; and sister, Cynthia Bussiere.

His parents preceded him in death.

Cremation has been chosen with burial at a later date.

    Jim was a very dear friend to me in Leesburg. He was awesome to work with at Rural King I hated to see him leave but I knew he wanted to be closer to his mother. He always talked about his boys and how well they were doing. He was a great baker and name the best snickerdoodle cookies. He will be missed by alot of people in Leesburg. RIP Jim

    I'll never forget you buddy. Especially how you'd always tell me "I wouldn't leave that biscuits and gravy alone for more than a minute if I were you". I hate that I didn't get to try yours. You'll be missed by me!!
