SHOALS James Owen McPherson, 85, Shoals, passed away at 3:38 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at his son’s residence.
Born January 16, 1924, in Lawrence County, he was the son Owen “Oney” and Avis (Russell) McPherson. He married Lina E. Reynolds November 7, 1942.
He retired from the logging industry.
He is a U. S. Army veteran of World War II Normandy Invasion.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, at the residence, 12450 High Gap Road, Shoals.
Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, at Mt. Olive Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
