MITCHELL John T. Fleener, 69, 676 VFW Road, Mitchell, passed away at 12:13 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008, at his residence.

Born May 15, 1939 in Evansville, he was the son of Elder William A. and Inez Elsa (Hopper) Fleener. He married Sue Ann Chastain December 23, 1961.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was a technical engineer and was employed at RCA from 1964-69 and the Burroughs Company from 1969-84. He retired June 18, 2004, from Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial after having also served at Wayne Hoosier National Forest in Bedford and Marietta, Ohio. John was a member of the Lost River Primitive Baptist Church.

His parents, and half brothers: Aarol, Frank, and Elmer T. Fleener, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 7, at Lost River Baptist Church with Elder Jesse Motsinger and Elder Ernest Motsinger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday at Chastain Funeral Home and from 1:30 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the church.
