MITCHELL Johnie Marie Clinkscales VanHoy, 58, left her family unexpectedly at her residence on July 7, 2012.
Born November 2, 1953, in Lexington, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Lorin “Doc” and Marie (Cook) Clinkscales.
Johnie had been employed at Contech and also Carpenter Body Works in Mitchell. She graduated from Carroll County High School in Kentucky in 1971. She was a majorette on the baton twirling team. She was an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post No. 250 and a lifetime charter member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsmen’s Club.
Johnie was a great golfer and could beat most men at the sport. She enjoyed fishing, playing piano, reading, crocheting, watching her grandsons play sports, and loved her animals. She was a very detailed, organized lady who took pride in everything she did. She loved to travel with her husband and they truly enjoyed their life together.
She was a devoted, supportive, and wonderful wife, mom, mamaw, and friend who loved those around her unconditionally. Johnie’s life in heaven will cause a lot of void in each of our hearts. There are no words to express how much she will be missed.
She is survived by her loving and wonderful husband of 20 years,
