MITCHELL Merlin E. Mundy, 81, 407 Hancock Avenue, Mitchell, passed away at 4:02 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford.
Born February 9, 1927, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Claude and Daisy (Tincher) Mundy. He married Donna Jean Doane April 26, 1944.
He retired from Federal Civil Service in Heath, Ohio, and was a member of Woodville Baptist Church. Merlin graduated from Shoals High School in 1944.

His parents, sons: Jimmie Lee Mundy and Michael Dean Mundy; and a grandson preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Hamer officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and from noon until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
