BEDFORD – Ruby Jean Sage, 86, formerly of Paoli, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born January 27, 1936, in Blackwater, Virginia, she was the daughter of Emmett and Inez (Johnson) Collingsworth. Ruby married Charles Edward Sage and he preceded her in death June 8, 2008.
Ruby was of the Pentecostal faith. She had an infectious laugh and loved all animals; especially cardinals and hummingbirds. She grew up on the family farm and enjoyed gardening and farm life. Ruby was a caregiver to two dear friends and her family.
Surviving are her children, Wilma (David Kent) Sage of Mitchell, Norma Sage of Bloomington, and Stanley (Ramona) Sage of Mitchell; grandchildren, Tarah Sage and Tricia Sage; great-grandchildren, Adrielle, Drew, and Kiel; and siblings, Rev. Gerald (Vida) Collingsworth of Ohio, David Collingsworth of Indianapolis, Kee Collingsworth of Mitchell, Bobbie (Maurice) Buechler of Mitchell, Jerline Tuell, and Mary (Dwight) Kinder of Arizona;
Her parents; husband; daughter, Cathy Sage; grandson, Marine Cpl Andrew Sage; siblings, James Collingsworth, C.J. Collingsworth, Don Collingsworth, Georgia Flick, SP4 Delmo Collingsworth, and Betty Sellers; and brother-in-law Tom Sellers, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Chaplain David Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Casual attire and jeans are welcomed. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Orange County Cancer Patient Services in memory of Charles Sage whom Ruby lost to colon cancer.
