BLOOMINGTON– Susan Kay (Hack) Johnson, 59, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at her daughter’s residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born August 27, 1962, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Kenneth E. and Carolyn Sue (Dalton) Hack.
Susan was a 1980 Mitchell High School graduate. She worked at Regal-Beloit for 20 years and at the Monroe County Auditor’s office for 18 years as a Property Director. Susan loved hiking and she recently accomplished the goal of hiking at every one of the Indiana State Parks with her brother Anthony. She was a very devoted mother and loved her family fiercely. She would do anything for her family. Susan was the definition of a “woman of faith” and was a lifelong member of the Mitchell First Church of God and attended City Church in Bloomington.
Surviving are her daughter, Megan (Keenan) Nowlin of Indianapolis; father, Kenneth E. Hack of Mitchell; siblings, Lisa Irene (Jim) Sanders of Shoals, William Kevin (Julia) Hack of Mitchell, Lori Lynn Hack of Mitchell, and Anthony Joe Hack of Mitchell; special cousin, Kinley Hack of Bedford; nieces and nephews, Natalie Cotton, Brandon Hack, Lucas Sanders, Josh Hack, Jacob Hack, Maisa Cotton, Christian Cotton, Zeke Cotton, Scott Sanders, Kelly Rascoe, Conner Rascoe, and Emma Rascoe; and her beloved companion dog Izzy.
Susan was preceded in death by her mother.
Cremation has been chosen with a Celebration of Life, at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at the Bedford First Church of God with Brother Kenny Dalton and Brother Brad Rainey presiding.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
